The kit is designed for the detection of the C677T station in the gene for methylentetrahydropholate reduktase (MTHFR) by the real-time PCR method. This method is based on the PCR amplification of a DNA sequence of the MTHFR gene bearing the C677T mutation and on the hybridization of the amplified sequence with fluorophorm marked probes for the standard C677C allele and for the mutant T677T allele of the MTHFR gene.
