The Opportunity

The Head of Sales is responsible for developing the long- and near-term strategy to accelerate growth and success of the GeneProof portfolio. This is a +300M CZK business focused on the global growth of our molecular diagnostics assays and automated systems. The Head of Sales will be responsible for leading the Commercial Unit which includes the following departments: Sales and Customer Support.

While the role will report directly to the GeneProof, VP/GM, the successful candidate will be under the leadership of the VP, Global Sales for NuvinkaDx. This position is strongly preferred to be in Brno (CZ). 

This individual will be expected to represent GeneProof within international medical, scientific, and clinical laboratory communities. The Head of Sales will have a high level of visibility and interaction with distributors, partners, and end-users. It is expected that the candidate will lead the expansion of the current molecular business with our current and newly identified global distributors, local distributors, laboratory chains and direct sales. 

 

Sales Management/Financial

  • Under the VP, Global Sales leadership, the Head of Sales will work to formulate a comprehensive business plan proposal and integrated approach to realizing short and longer-term customer opportunity for growth, platform/product application to customer portfolio, market and competitive position, and pricing strategies.
  • They will be responsible for driving the company revenue and profit growth, ensuring the attainment of the overall financial goals for GeneProof instruments and supported assays.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, support, and develop a team of sales representatives driving excellence in skills development.
  • Create plans and strategies for developing business to achieve assigned sales goals, including partnering with the Marketing and Product Management Organization, to proactively identify opportunities to capture market share/market growth.
  • Lead the expansion of the current business and sales of diagnostic kits and automation, with our current and newly identified global distributors, local distributors, laboratory chains and direct sales. 
  • Partner with cross-functional GeneProof internal team members and external partners to address current and evolving customer needs to expand our brand awareness and clinical presence.

 

Operational Effectiveness

  • Leads executive reporting and sales strategy discussions with senior leadership.
  • Prepares & leads quarterly business reviews to address performance, strategies, and activities of the customer stakeholders to ensure annual budget attainment.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for improving the overall productivity of the sales teams.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of key sales management processes such as:
    • Sales Funnel Management
    • Sales Call Reporting and CRM management
    • Monthly and Quarterly sales growth
  • Collaborate with the GeneProof and Global team members to align potential new strategies that could benefit overall growth.
  • Negotiates effectively on contracting, priorities, timelines, progress, and measures.
  • Leverages sales funnel dashboards and sales metrics to measure customer activity to address a territory expansion or need.
  • Holds teams accountable to business plan and success metrics.
  • Delivers accelerated adoption of GeneProof’s molecular portfolio through new and competitive business acquisition while also increasing customer satisfaction, engagement and loyalty resulting in account retention and growth.
  • Responsible for accurately forecasting and ensuring effective management of all opportunities within area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that country-specific laws and regulations are identified and followed.
  • Ensure all sales adhere to anti-bribery and corruption requirements.

 

Relationship Management

  • Develop relationships with key customers and opinion leaders within the designated territory.
  • Puts Customers First - responds efficiently and promptly to customer requests, clarifies the customers' business challenges and is a technical resource throughout the whole sales cycle.
  • Coordinate with the commercial marketing team to provide real-time competitive information and feedback on any GeneProof product, assay, or service.
  • Contribute and communicate with the sales team to share insights, achievements, best practices, and learning opportunities.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years progressively responsible sales experience
  • Minimum 5 years people-leadership experience
  • Experience with complex sales cycles with multiple call points (Lab, IT, CEO, Finance & Supply Chain)
  • Capital sales experience preferred
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Proven ability to develop multiple executive sponsors.
  • Proven product knowledge in the business area 
  • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a growth mindset
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills (i.e., Situational Leadership)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Flexible and able to consistently meet deadlines and focused on delivery
  • Ability to communicate in English on a professional level – presentations, meetings, reporting
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
  • Mobility and willingness to travel

 

Compensation

The company will provide a competitive compensation package consisting of a base salary commensurate with experience, and an incentive program tied to company and individual goals.
