Our Story

From Scientific Discovery to Global Diagnostics

GeneProof was founded by Radek Horvath and Milos Dendis, two scientists who helped pioneer the adoption of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in routine clinical diagnostics in the Czech Republic.

Our journey began long before the company itself. In 1995, they achieved the first successful PCR detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in a clinical sample in the Czech Republic, marking an important milestone in molecular diagnostics. This breakthrough was followed by numerous scientific and technological achievements that laid the foundation for GeneProof.

Recognizing the growing need for reliable, standardized molecular diagnostic solutions, Horvath and Dendis established GeneProof in 2005. Their vision was simple: to make PCR diagnostics more accurate, accessible, and easier for laboratories around the world.

Building a Global Diagnostics Leader

Today, GeneProof is a trusted global manufacturer of molecular diagnostic solutions. With more than 100 employees, our portfolio includes 80+ CE-IVD real-time PCR products, with 40+ kits already compliant with the IVDR requirements, serving laboratories in 75+ countries worldwide. Approximately 90 % of our production is exported, reflecting the confidence customers place in our technology and quality.

A significant milestone came in 2022, when GeneProof joined forces with American Laboratory Products Company (ALPCO), a U.S.-based specialty in vitro diagnostics company, becoming part of the global diagnostics organization now known as NuvinkaDx. Bringing together complementary expertise in molecular diagnostics, immunoassays, and laboratory solutions, NuvinkaDx combines scientific excellence, innovation, and global reach to help laboratories deliver faster, more reliable diagnostic results and improve patient care worldwide.
